Mooncake chess combines game and treats

The mooncake is the traditional Chinese food for Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on Sept. 12 this year, or Aug. 15 on the Chinese lunar calendar. A bakery in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, sells chess pieces made from mooncakes. In this version of the popular board game Xiang Qi (Chinese chess), which represents the battle between two armies - red and black - players can eat the mooncake pieces when they are captured and removed from the board. The creative Xiang Qi mooncake is a hot seller, local media reported.

月餅是中國人中秋節(jié)的傳統(tǒng)食品,今年的中秋節(jié)(農(nóng)歷8月15日)是公歷9月12日。江蘇南京一家面點(diǎn)房制作出一種象棋月餅。中國象棋中的紅方和黑方代表兩軍之戰(zhàn)。下月餅象棋時(shí),棋手可以吃掉捕獲并從棋盤上移走的月餅。具當(dāng)?shù)孛襟w報(bào)道,這一獨(dú)具創(chuàng)意的象棋月餅十分暢銷。
