Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) on Thursday announced the final squad for FIFA U20 Women's World Cup 2024 scheduled for next month in Colombia.
The 24-player squad was finalized after the completion of the pre-tournament training camp in Yaounde, capital of Cameroon.
It is mainly made up of players who play in domestic leagues.
"Only a few players who play in Spain and France are part of the squad which means that Cameroon wants to showcase its local talents during the tournament in Colombia. These girls are good and promise to perform well," sports analyst, James Malu told Xinhua.
The squad will be led by midfielder, Naomi Eto.
"We've been drawn in a tough group (made up of) Australia, Mexico and hosts Colombia. We'll have our minds on the job when we go there. We're also going there to win because we've got it in us," said Eto in a recent interview.
It is the first time for the Indomitable Lionesses to feature in the 24-team tournament.
