Coach Thiago Motta informed the Polish international that there would be no place for him in the team. In July, Juventus signed Michele Di Gregorio, who will probably be the number one between the posts.
For Juventus, the problem was Szczesny's high salary, which according to Italian media is around seven million euros per year. The Pole's contract runs until July 2025. However, both parties reached an agreement to terminate the contract before the start of this season.
"I really believe in loyalty and fulfilling contracts. I never forced any transfer. But loyalty for me is also such a situation that if the club that gave you a lot needs to break the terms of the contract and needs your help, then you are also able to help," Szczesny was quoted as saying by Polish media "Foot Truck" on Wednesday.
The goalkeeper joined Juventus in 2017. He played 252 matches for the Italian team.
