Corinthians are poised to appoint Argentine Ramon Diaz as their manager for the rest of the 2024 Brazilian football season, news outlet Globo Esporte said on Monday.
The 64-year-old has reached an in-principle agreement and could be in the Corinthians for the home clash against Criciuma next Tuesday.
Corinthians have been searching for a new manager since sacking Antonio Oliveira last week.
Diaz, a former Argentina international striker whose managerial career includes spells in charge of River Plate and Paraguay's national team, was out of work since parting ways with Brazil's Vasco da Gama in April.
Corinthians are currently 17th in the 20-team Brazilian Serie A standings with just two wins from 15 matches this season.
