Valencia head coach Ruben Baraja has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2026.
The new contract is a reward for the excellent work that the former player has done since replacing Gennaro Gattuso in February 2023, with the club then locked in a battle to avoid relegation.
The 48-year-old guided them to safety on the last day of the campaign with the help of players he promoted from the youth system, and last season Los Che finished ninth in La Liga.
Once again, Baraja was able to get the best out of players such as Hugo Duro, Pepelu, Diego Lopez and Cristhian Mosquera, although the lack of depth in their squad was exposed in the last two months of the season, where they failed to win in their last six games.
"Ever since his arrival in February 2023, Ruben Baraja and his technical staff have worked to day by day give competitive values that should be a solid base to continue building on," explained the club on the official Valencia website.
Meanwhile, Baraja highlighted the need to "give continuity to the work we have done and we have to believe we can win in any ground and against any rivals."
"I am very happy and very proud to have the chance to continue at Valencia and carry on living my dream," commented the coach.
