Chinese third seed Peng Shuai outpowered Marina Erakovic of New Zealand 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, booking a semifinal berth at the Birmingham WTA grasscourt tournament on Friday.
Peng sets up the semifinal clash against Sabine Lisicki after the German beat 14th seeded Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova 7-6 (7/ 1), 6-4.
Second seed Ana Ivanovic, who reached the last four in the cost of Croatian Mirjana Lucic through a 6-3, 6-3 win, will face Daniela Hantuchova after the Slovakian Hantuchova, seeded fourth, ousted Alison Riske of the United States 6-2, 6-4.
