Antidumping Probe Launched into Imported Chemical
Adjust font size:

China announced Thursday it has started an anti-dumping investigation of imported nonyl phenol originating from India.

Such product from China's Taiwan Province also has to go through anti-dumping investigation while entering the Chinese mainland.

China's Ministry of Commerce said it would scrutinize whether the imported products from the areas constitute dumping, and if so would confirm the scope of dumping.

The investigation would conclude before Dec. 29, 2006, but may extend until June 29, 2007 under certain conditions, according to the announcement.

Nonyl phenol is a kind of chemical used in areas of textile, lubricating oil, rubber and pesticide.

China has altogether launched about 40 anti-dumping investigations of imported goods since 1997, when the country started the first anti-dumping case, according to sources with the Ministry of Commerce.
