The second Beijing Digital Security Conference, as a part of the 2024 ZGC Forum series, was held in Beijing on Thursday. The conference aimed to foster talent in digital security, spur technological innovation, and energize the industry.
At the conference, a digital security competition, under the 2024 National Data Application Contest, was launched.
As China's first professional competition on digital security, the competition focuses on various elements of digital data, aiming to build a specialized platform for key industries and sectors. It seeks to enhance the supply of data resources, encourage public engagement in exploring market demands, and improve data utilization.
The contest aims to uncover outstanding data security technologies and professionals, and promote new technologies, methods, and applications in data security to ensure the stable operation of the digital economy, according to the organizing committee of the contest.
During the conference, a white paper on security standardization of data circulation was released, highlighting several risks to China's data security. These include inconsistent legal requirements for data circulation, increased risk of data misuse, and inadequate data circulation infrastructure.
The Beijing municipal government will continue to increase support by providing pro-development policies and a pro-development environment, said Dong Qichao, vice director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee.
He added, the city will promote the integration of digital security and digital technologies and position the city as a global leader in digital security.
