Hyundai Motor used the platform of the first China International Import Expo in Shanghai to present its high performance N brand products and its all-new fuel cell electric vehicle NEXO.
The first N brand product, i30 N was unveiled a year ago and its outstanding performances at international races since then have won it widespread recognition, said Thomas Schemera, Hyundai's vice-president for high performance cars and motorsport, at a news briefing on Nov. 6.
"The valuable experience and technical expertise derived from the success in motorsport will cascade down to all N Brand products and even to all regular Hyundai models," said Thomas. "‘Feel the feeling' is our main slogan. Heart beats per minute is the true parameter of our achievement."
High performance N vehicles such as the i30 N, Veloster N, and i30 Fastback N feature a dedicated engine, chassis, and technologies so as to satisfy performance-oriented enthusiasts. Both the i30 N and the i30 Fastback N have been launched in Europe while the Veloster N in North America and Korea, according to the briefing.
The NEXO is Hyundai's all-new fuel cell electric vehicle and the technological flagship product for its growing eco-vehicle lineup, introduced Jong Jin Park, director of Hyundai's fuel cell performance development group.
It has the world's best fuel cell system efficiency at 60% and can realize a world-leading driving range, which is expected to be 800km in the New European Driving Cycle mode, Jong elaborated. It also has extraordinary air purification functions so that 99.9% of fine dust can be purified as air filters through the NEXO, including Nano-particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers, he added.
