The popular animated franchise "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" returns to the big screen this summer, bringing a new world-saving adventure to entertain young fans.

"Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: The World Guardians," directed by Huang Junming and Chen Lijin, follows the titular characters and their allies as they protect a magical gem, crucial for world stability and harmony, from a mysterious force. Throughout their dangerous quest, the characters face challenges, grow together, and learn the true meaning of guardianship.
At the premiere on July 16, the franchise creator and general executive producer Huang Weiming said, "'Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf' have accompanied us for 19 years. This time, we hope to give both adults and children a different experience through a brand-new story."
Producer Huang Xiaoxue added, "When creating this work, we considered how our audience has grown up, and we realized that we need to constantly keep their evolving thoughts in mind."
The new film, produced by Alpha Animation and Creative Power Entertaining Corporation, is a sci-fi-themed, action-packed adventure. The movie introduces exciting innovations to the series, such as mechs and fancy battle vehicles for the main characters. Directors Huang and Chen explained that these additions allow the movie to explore new possibilities and showcase a different side of the franchise for fans while attracting more young viewers.
"Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" is a popular and long-running animation in China. Its last theatrical release, "Dunk for Future," grossed 160 million yuan ($22 million) at Chinese box offices in 2022.
